If you are interested in patient safety, there remains so very much work to be done. I hope you don’t have a family member that has been harmed by the healthcare system. Rather, I hope many of you are interested in safety and quality because you can see the opportunities available to improve patient care if we take the time to improve our systems. We are the people who know our industry the best and I think those of us in healthcare are best poised to do the work.
There are many people who have been harmed by the very system designed to help them. Search the internet and you can find story after story. One of many stories that has stuck with me is Aliecia’s Story. It is worth a listen/look.
